Name: Innisfree Jeju House

Where: 425 Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si

Contact: 080-380-0114

When: 9am-6pm (7pm in summer)

Beverages: Black bean and mixed grain soymilk, local organic juices, a variety of fruit blenders, fruit teas, iced and hot chocolate, etc.

Bingsu (shaved ice sherbert): Locally sourced canola honey, tangerine, and bean.

Others: Try a “Jeju Lady Divers’ Brunch Basket” or carrot soup, a hotdog, or a sandwich.

Prices: 4,500 for an americano; 15,000 won for brunch

Taste: The beverages, bingsu and ice cream challenge the best on the island for taste, particularly the green tea versions, their fresh sharpness owing to the leaves being harvested just outside. Satisfactory on taste, the brunches and sandwiches are docked some points for price.

Service: Even when busy the staff are very helpful.

Interior: Being airy, light and refreshing, diners have all the benefits of being outside, without the strong sun. There is always the veranda for that.

Atmosphere: Although the unbeatable view is no longer unbeatable (thanks, Jeju Aerospace Museum!) this is still a great place to eat al fresco. The tea bushes stretch out in front and the tasteful O’Sulloc Tea Stone building is as refreshing as the ice cream.
