Do you know the International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE?) This expo was held at the Jeju International Convention Center on March 6th through March 15th. It was created by different Electric Vehicle (EV) companies in order to introduce and market a variety of vehicles to the public.
When this global expo was first held, the stated goal was to lead in and develop the creation of value in the EV sector throughout the world. Another goal of the convention is to promote a push to change all vehicles into EVs before 2030. Expo participants worked to influence people to consider using electric vehicles by letting them experience the effectiveness and utility of EVs.
There were 3 different types of exhibits in each floor. The first exhibition was mainly dedicated to different types of cars, several other types of electric vehicles, and specific information about those EVs. One of the most interesting things that I saw was a new EV model that will be released within a few years.
In the second exhibition, we could experience hands-on the operation of smaller EVs. There were bicycles, motorcycles and cars. I went on a trial ride and it was very fun. I interviewed Mr. Kim, who worked on the staff in the second exhibition.
When asked about the differences between the first and second exhibitions, he answered, “The second exhibition is mostly about electric vehicles, whereas the first exhibition is a mixture of cars and a few electric vehicles. It seemed to me that there wasn’t as much to see in the first exhibition.”
Lastly, the third exhibition was held outside of the Convention Center. It was a place where kids could enjoy riding toy cars. I could definitely see that most of the children were enjoying themselves; the joy was beaming from their faces. Most of the visitors came with their families.
When asked how the visitors learned about the convention, and if they were enjoying the experience they replied, “We saw the banner and came here since my son really is interested in vehicles, especially cars. Yes, we are really enjoying it and I am grateful to be able to come and visit such a wonderful place.”
Like the family that I interviewed, I saw that most of the people who came to this expo really seemed to have enjoyed it. Also, I personally think that it was a great place to visit, and it made a huge impression on me.
